OPTICAL ANALYSIS AND OPTICAL DESIGN VERIFICATION

Thanks to ANSYS Optical product group solutions, optical designs for automotive, defense, aviation, lighting, white goods, and all other sectors can be analyzed and verified. It enables visual and mathematical photometric, colorimetric, spectral, and radiometric analysis, simulating optical designs without producing products in terms of illumination, luminance and intensity measurements and realizing errors at the design stage. In addition, thanks to optical experts, suggestions and approaches for optimizations can be developed after optical performance analysis according to customer requests. Through ANSYS Optical solutions such as all interior and exterior lighting for automotive, stray light and colorimetric environmental space effect of targeting systems for defense, EULUMDAT and photometric performance for the lighting industry, under-button lighting for white goods or other lighting products analysis are at customer’s service.

Thanks to the validation made by adhering to standards such as ECE, NHTSA, SAE, which are especially valid for some industries, it is also verified both mathematically and visually whether the product has passed these standards at the virtual prototype stage. MATERIAL AND TEXTURE OPTICS PERFORMANCE EFFECTS AND COMMENTS

ANSYS Speos can simulate plastic, metal, and all other materials that users plan to use in optical or mechanical parts in real life and the pattens they will use. In this way, material effects on optical performance can be tested. Materials were measured in the OPTIS France laboratory or with hand-held measuring devices and presented to the library and customer service. Together with the customer, the optical specialist team can visualize the material and texture properties of the parts in line with the customer requests, and then provide interpretation services to contribute to the optical optimization of the model-material relationship. At the same time, material recommendations can be made according to the results obtained.

UV LIGHT ANALYSIS, OPTICAL PART DESIGNS AND OPTIMIZATION

ANSYS Speos serves not on the visible side of the light, but on the IR and UV parts as well. In particular, the layout of the UV lighting used for sterilization, the design of the optical components to make the orientation and the optimization of the designs to ensure the most effective UV dissipation in line with the UV-C analysis, thus supporting the sterilization with simulations can be carried out by the expert team.

VISUAL ERGONOMICS, REFLECTION AND GLARE TESTS

ANSYS Speos enables engineers not only to carry out performance analysis of their own products during the engineering phase, but also to do the tests that must be done from the eyes of the user. It can simulate all effects such as reflections and glare that can threaten the visual ergonomics of the driver while driving, especially in areas such as automotive and aviation, such as different environmental conditions, different locations and physical solar conditions of these location, and material changes. In this way, all problems elated to reflection and glare can be evaluated together with the expert team while still in the design phase and can be solved in the pre-production phase with design, layout, and design changes. At the same time, evaluation of reflection and glare effects under night conditions is among the capabilities of ANSYS Speos. Thus, under night conditions, dangerous reflections of ambient lighting, touch-sensitive LED displays or dashboards for aviation and all light-emitting devices in the other cockpit can be detected visually and mathematically with Luminescence analyses.

HUD (HEAD-UP DISPLAY) DESIGN, ANALYSIS AND OPTIMIZATION

ANSYS Optical Solutions’ special “Head-Up Design and Analysis” capability provides HUD designs, HUD optical analysis (ghost, astigmatism, magnification, FOV, etc.) especially for the automotive and aviation industries, and subsequently provides optimizations for optical design improvement and a clear HUD image. In this way, by minimizing the need for prototypes, how the HUD placement and visual quality will be can be seen in ANSYS Speos at the design stage. At the same time, it is possible to evaluate the HUD performance visually and photo-realistically from the eyes of the user and to experience it in the drive simulator as well as optical analysis.

VIRTUAL REALITY AND PRODUCT EXPERIENCE

Thanks to ANSYS Optical Solutions, a wide range of solutions can be offered. One of these is that after the designs from all groups are packaged and the total product is ready (for example, the interior and exterior design of a car), both the product’s photorealistic visualization and the lighting performances can be experienced by the users as if they are products in real life. Especially in automotive and aviation, it responds to many user experience-based requests such as evaluation of cockpit design, interaction with products, evaluation of on-road or landing-departure lighting, evaluation of HMI and instrument panels, HUD visual user experiences, and photorealistic product combinations (product moderator). Thus, issues that are difficult to decide on the screen are presented to users as an experience in a virtual reality environment.

Especially in the automotive, aviation and defense industry, this is used in many areas such as targeting, tracking, and recording, location, back and forward vision, parking, autonomous vehicle use, adaptive smart road lighting systems, day and night vision targeting-camera-binocular systems. Performance analysis of the equipment can be performed day, night, sunlight, weather conditions (fog, rain, etc.) and shiny surfaces (retroflex). VEHICLE SIMULATOR, DRIVE TESTS, AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE TESTS

Thanks to the vehicle simulator feature in ANSYS Optical product family, it is possible to drive vehicles in virtual reality or simulator cabin for the automotive industry. In this way, while driving the vehicle, many tests such as day and night conditions of ambient lighting, performance analysis of HMI and instrument panel, visual ergonomic tests such as reflection and glare, HUD analysis and visibility can be experienced, while at the same time, it can create a test environment for autonomous vehicles thanks to its liar feature. Scenarios can be created by users with their own geometries or some scenarios in ANSYS Speos.

Thanks to ANSYS Speos, you can get an idea of how your optical products will look in real life, not just as performance outputs, but as photorealistic results. Optical physics underlie the photorealistic visual output – both with and without illumination- of different products, such as automobile, cockpit, washing machine, lampshade; therefore, it can present real-life outputs as day, night, indoor, outdoor, lit (light on) or unlit (light off). In this way, you can see how products will have an effect in the environment as well as during performance analysis alone.

MULTIPLE PHYSICS ANALYSIS AND OPTICAL EFFECTS

Multiple Physics ANSYS Speos and ANSYS Mechanical-Fluid interactions make ANSYS Optical Solutions not only perform analysis at nominal values of the products. It can also examine thermal or other effects, and mechanical deformations on the optical product. Thus, the user can see all the differences between t0 (initial moment) and t1 (after being exposed to the effects for a certain period of time). Thanks to expert optical engineers, these analysis are also re-evaluated according to standards such as ECE, NHTSA, SAE, and if mechanical deformations cause standard problems after a certain period of time, these problems are reported.
